Management
Francois R. Martelet, M.D., CEO, 48 years, Doctorate in Medicine, holds a Pharmaceutical Marketing Master's Degree in Business. Previously, he served, from 2003 through 2005, as the Regional Pharma Head, Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa for Novartis Pharma, AG. From 2005 to 2006 he was Global Franchise Head Oncology at Merck & Co in USA, and was elected to the board of directors of the company in 2007 and CEO of Genopoietic in 2008.
Isabelle Fourthin, M.D., Chief Medical Officer EMEA and General Manager of Genopoietic, 44 years, holds an MBA in International Management from a leading business school (ESSEC) in Paris, France. Previously, she worked for Ost-Developpement S.A., a subsidiary of Osteotech Inc., a global biotech and medical device company, where she was the Business Unit Head for the European biotech products division. Most recently, she was Medical Director Oncology, with Merck & Co. where she was responsible for increasing the oncology pipeline of Merck in France. She joined AVAX Technologies Inc. in March 2008 as Senior Medical Director EMEA and General Manager of Genopoietic since October 2008.
